Tamil Nadu politics are extremely rough and challenging in nature, and this has been established multiple times in the past. Bringing all the leading parties on one stage is literally impossible, regardless of the cause.
A similar scenario has come up in front of chief minister Thalapathy Vijay, who is appearing to face his toughest challenge till date.
Vijay called for an all party meeting in Tamil Nadu today to discuss the delimitation bill and the kind of stance that Tamil Nadu needs to follow on the same.
Incidentally, Vijay chaired a meeting of Tamil Nadu MPs on delimitation’s impact on the state, amid reports of a special Parliament session after August 13
19 MPs attended and they happen to be 11 Congress, two each from CPI, CPI(M), VCK, one each from MDMK, IUML. Senior leaders Chidambaram, Thirumavalavan and Durai Vaiko were present
Those who skipped were DMK (22 LS, 8 RS MPs), AIADMK and PMK. These representatives stuck to the respective party comments who restricted them from taking part in this meeting held by Vijay.
It appears that Tamil Nadu state by itself is not entirely unified and political terms despite the fact that all of them have been opposing the delimitation at the fundamental level.
Vijay must surely be having a rough time, bringing all these entities together in this fight against the central government proposal. This is one of the big challenges that he has been facing of late.
