The father of medico Priyanka, who is in critical state after being hit by a car in Rajahmundry, has expressed deep anguish over the lack of response from the Andhra Pradesh government and its leaders.
In an emotional statement, Priyanka’s father questioned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh for not visiting or offering support to his family during the difficult time.
“My daughter Priyanka was studying medicine. She was brutally hit by a car in Rajahmundry. The news became a talking point across the state. Do CM Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Nara Lokesh not even have time to respond to this tragedy?” he asked.
He also said that his daughter has been fighting for her life at a hospital in Hyderabad and questioned whether the three leaders, who frequently visit Hyderabad, could not find time to meet the family and enquire about her condition.
His anger grew further as he questioned the government over the accused in the case.
“Can those who committed the mistake roam freely on the roads under your government?” he asked.
He also questioned Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha over the safety of women and girls.
“Do the lives of girls and women have no value for you?” he asked in anguish.
The comments reflect the pain and frustration of a father whose daughter is battling for her life after a tragic incident. With the family going through such a devastating situation, timely support, medical assistance and reassurance from the government can mean a lot.
The AP government should ensure that the victim’s family receives all possible assistance and that the investigation is conducted properly and transparently.
Above all, the family deserves justice. The accused, if found guilty, must face strict action under the law, while the government should ensure that the case does not lose momentum and that the family is not left to fight for justice alone.
Meanwhile, the opposition YSRCP shouldn’t give this incident a political touch. It’s time for all the political leaders cutting across the parties to come forward and ensure the victim’s family gets justice.
