AP Local Polls: Congress Crashed, Sharmila Silent!

A crucial leg of the ongoing Andhra Pradesh, local body election was completed in the home of the municipal election, and the results were overwhelmingly in favour of the NDA government.

However, there is this one particular observation regarding the Congress party, which is now grabbing the attention as it was nowhere in the scene in AP.

Congress was in no position to win at least any municipal Corporation or any mayoral position either. In fact, the party did not even have candidates in the majority of the seats that were in contention in the recent local election.

From being a resilient force in Andhra Pradesh for many decades, Congress has completely lost the touch here in the state politics. It is a fact that the majority of the cadets and supporters have moved on to the YCP ecosystem but that still doesn’t explain everything.

At the end of the day, it is the responsibility of the state president Sharmila to at least put up a fight in the election, but that did not happen. The whole purpose of the Congress bringing Sharmila into the Andhra Pradesh leadership has been defeated with the lack of fighting spirit.

It is true that Sharmila had been occupied with the wedding activities of her daughter, which is happening this month, but that does not transpire into a political system. This catastrophic failure in the local election must be signed to the party leadership at the Delhi level too.
