Against the privatisation of Vizag steel plant, Vizag North MLA Ganta Srinivasa offered his resignation, the day the announcement arrived. However, opposition parties have claimed it as a political stunt and Ganta did not send the resignation letter in Speaker format.
But MLA Ganta is stuck to his decision and is hell bent on his resignation getting approved. Ganta met AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitharam on Thursday. Speaker Tammineni was on a visit to Amudalavalasa and learning about this, Ganta reached the place. A new resignation letter was submitted to Tammineni and Ganta asked the Speaker to approve his resignation.
After meeting Ganta, Speaker Tammineni said he has been my friend for years. “We worked together in TDP and PRP. Now Ganta met me on his resignation matter. I will look into it after going to Amaravati in a week’s time. It is too early to comment now,” said Tammineni.
Seems like Ganta is serious about his resignation and is in no mood to go back on his decision. He also appealed to elected members of Vizag and across the state to unite against the privatisation row.
