Budvel YCP MLA Passes Away

YSRCP’s Budvel MLA Dr. Gunthoti Venkata Subbaiah passed away in the wee hours of Sunday. He was 61 and is survived by his wife, a daughter and son. Dr. Venkata Subbaiah was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kadapa district for the last few days.

Venkata Subbaiah first underwent treatment at a corporate hospital in Hyderabad. After being discharged, he was actively involved in the campaigns for the YSRCP in the recently concluded municipal polls in Kadapa. After the polls, he again fell ill and was admitted to a hospital in Kadapa, where he breathed his last.

Born into a Dalit family in Mallelvaripalli in Budvel, Venkata Subbaiah was a prominent doctor in Kadapa and served at Apollo and Kamineni Hospitals. He had also setup Lakshmi Venkateswara Clinic in Kadapa. He later joined active politics and worked as Budvel YSRCP co-ordinator in 2016 and contested the 2019 assembly elections for the first time and won with a huge majority. 

AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other party leaders and supporters expressed their grief over the passing of Dr. G Venkata Subbaiah. His last rites will be performed today at his hometown.
