Pulivendula Residents’ Police Complaint Against Pawan Kalyan

Janasena President Pawan Kalyan’s fiery speech during his campaign in Tirupati has landed him in trouble. Hurt by Pawan’s derogatory statements on Pulivendula, several residents and YSRCP leaders from the Rayalaseema town have lodged a police complaint against the actor turned politician.

Pulivendula’s recently elected Municipal Chairman Varaprasad, YSRCP councilors and other leaders filed a complaint at Pulivendula Urban Police Station in YSR Kadapa district against Pawan Kalyan. They alleged that Pawan’s disrespectful remarks on their town have hurt their sentiments and demanded a public apology from the Janasena supremo at the earliest.

During his speech, Pawan raked up YS Vivekananda Reddy’s brutal murder and alleged that the YSRCP has turned Pulivendula into a crime and terror hub. The YSRCP leaders, on the other hand, said in their complaint that Pulivendula is often described as the birthplace of love, affection, and bravery. They also reminded that two chief ministers (YSR and YS Jagan) hail from this region.

Meanwhile, the Pulivendula cops are unable to probe into the complaint, as Pawan made those comments in Tirupati, which doesn’t fall into Pulivendula jurisdiction. It remains to be seen if Pawan’s recent comments will give an edge to the YSRCP over the BJP in the upcoming by-election.
