India Declines UN’s Offer Of Assistance

India has reportedly declined assistance offered by the United Nations of its integrated supply chain for Covid-19 related material, saying it has a ‘robust system’ to deal with the situation, as per the spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Though India has declined the UN offer to assist, the Deputy Spokesman for the UN Chief, Farhan Haq said their offer stands, and they are willing to help in whatever way they can.

India’s Permanent Representative to the UN T S Tirumurti has been in contact with the UN officials about the Covid-9 situation in India. UN General Assembly expressed solidarity for India and said it is time for the world to extend help and support the country.

India’s UN Ambassador Tirumurti said India deeply appreciates the UN’s sentiments and solidarity at this juncture.
