How KCR Changed The Fate Of Kishan Reddy, Revanth & Bandi

Don’t ever underestimate a failure. They say failure is always a stepping stone for success. It is indeed true. BJP leaders Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay and Congress leader Revanth Reddy have proved it once again. Here is the interesting story. All the aforementioned leaders of Telangana had lost in Assembly elections and eventually became MPs. Now, one heads BJP, one heads Congress and the one became Union Minister.

Due to KCR’s decision to go for early polls in 2018 December, it gave very little chance for the opposition party leaders to prepare for the polls. Also, several factors including the Congress and TDP’s jugalbandhi did work in favour of the incumbent TRS. The campaign of TDP chief and then AP CM Chandrababu Naidu had helped KCR to invoke the Telangana sentiment and thus it triggered its people to vote for the pink party. The end result is several leaders of Congress and BJP have to lose the Assembly polls.

Kishan Reddy

G Kishan Reddy, who had lost the 2018 Assembly poll in Amberpt, has got silver lining. Just five months later, Kishan Reddy won the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat by more than 60,000 votes in the neck-and-neck contest between the BJP and the TRS. Kishan Reddy has beaten Talasani Sai Yadav, son of Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. He subsequently became the Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs under Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The other day, Kishan Reddy was elevated to the Union Cabinet rank as he has been made the Union Tourism Minister. Had Kishan Reddy won the MLA seat in Amberpet, probably he wouldn’t have contested the Secunderabad Lok Sabha election and thus he wouldn’t have got into Narendra Modi’s cabinet. Destiny always have different plans.

Revanth Reddy

Revanth Reddy had contested from Kodangal as a Congress MLA candidate and lost to TRS candidate Patnam Narender Reddy, marking his first ever defeat in any election. Revanth had fought to the core, but he eventually lost in the Assembly poll. It was a humiliating defeat for Revanth Reddy. But that is not end of Revanth who later won as Malkajgiri MP in 2019 general Lok Sabha election beating TRS candidate Marri Rajasekhar Reddy. Revanth proved his stamina and thus elected to the Lok Sabha. In June 2021, Revanth Reddy has been appointed as the TPCC chief. He is now heading the Congress party in the state and is taking on KCR.

Bandi Sanjay

BJP’s hard-core leader Bandi Sanjay, who contested the Karimnagar Assembly in 2018 from the Lotus Party, was defeated by rival TRS candidate Gangula Kamalakar with a meager 14 votes. However, Bandi Sanjay won from Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat with the margin of 89508 votes against the TRS MP candidate Boinapalli Vinod Kumar. Bandi Sanjay’s fierce and aggressive stand against KCR won him recognition and he was made as the Telangana BJP state president. Bandi successfully led the BJP in the Dubbaka by-poll and the GHMC elections and strengthened the BJP’s position in the state. Bandi Sanjay’s victory as MP as helped him garner a lot of attention in the state. So, fate always has its own plans.

The moral of the story is that don’t ever estimate what fate holds for oneself after a failure or setback.
