The demand for beer in Greater Hyderabad has surged, with sales surpassing 80 thousand cases daily. However, production struggles to match this heightened demand, leading to shortages. Wine shop managers report receiving only a portion of their ordered cases, exacerbating concerns for meeting consumer demand, especially as summer approaches. Excise officials reveal receiving 1.5 to 2 lakh cases daily, yet this may not suffice for the expected demand surpassing 15 lakh cases. Companies, facing pending dues, temporarily reduce production to cope with demand, raising uncertainties over meeting future needs amidst increasing beer sales and a slight decline in liquor sales.
