Emerging Player: Ruturaj Gaikwad scores his maiden IPL century

The scintillating show of Ruturaj Gaikwad is continuing in this edition of the Indian Premier League. The young and dashing opener of Chennai Super Kings scored his maiden IPL century tonight in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

The 24-year-old lad scored 101 runs off 60 balls and helped CSK to post a total of 189/4 in 20 overs. He reached the century mark on the last ball of the innings where he had hit a six. That shows the confidence of this rising star.

Ruturaj got good support from Ravindra Jadeja (32*) and both of them made a partnership of 55 runs. Ruturaj is also now the orange cap holder of this season with 508 runs.

He is the youngest player (24 years 244 days) to score a century for CSK. Overall, he is the ninth player to score a ton for the team.

CSK scored 73 runs off the last five overs as every bowler of the Rajasthan Royals were brutally hammered by the duo of Gaikwad and Jadeja.

Ruturaj took 43 balls to score fifty. He scored 51 runs in the next 17 balls. That shows how he accelerated the game in no time.
