IPL 2022: Chahal Scores Season’s First Hat-trick

Yuzvendra Chahal proved why he is considered the best T20 bowler in India. The little southpaw scored a hat-trick against Kolkata Knight Riders in the match held about a while ago and ended his spell with tremendous figures of 4-0-40-5. This is his first 5-fer in his IPL career. His magnificent spell helped his team Rajasthan Royals in winning the game by 7 runs.

Chahal got whacked by Aaron Finch in his first over. As a result, he conceded 17 runs in that over. But he came back stronger in his next over. He gave away only seven runs in his second over.

In his third over, he got the crucial wicket of Nitish Rana. In his final over, Chahal got important wickets of Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins. He scalped the wickets of Shreyas, Mavi and Cummins in three consecutive balls.

With that one over, he changed the entire course of the game. He gave his trademark relaxing pose after scoring a hat-trick. Before Chahal’s last over, KKR needed 40 runs in 24 balls. After his over, KKR lost four wickets and needed 38 runs in 18 balls.

After that game-changing over, KKR tried getting back into the game but it had very few wickets in hand. As a result, KKR got all out for 210 runs while chasing a massive total of 217 runs. After this match, Chahal is the current purple cap holder with 17 wickets under his name.
