Asia Cup: Team India Registers Second Victory

Team India is continuing its superlative form in Asia Cup 2022. After winning its first game against Pakistan, India now won its second game against Hong Kong and qualified for the Super- 4 stage. After Afghanistan, India became the second team to qualify for the Super-4 stage.

Hong Kong’s skipper Nizakat Khan chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Indian top-order batters used this opportunity and brought back their form. While Rohit Sharma disappointed with a poor show once again, KL Rahul (36) made a crucial partnership with Virat Kohli (59* off 44 balls) for the second wicket. After Rahul’s dismissal, Virat led the innings with the support of Surya Kumar Yadav (68* off 26 balls). Both of them made sure not to lose another wicket and scored their respective half-centuries as well.

While Kohli played cautious innings, SKY went berserk right from ball one and scored his fifty in just 22 balls. He had hit six 4s and six 6s in his innings. With the help of this stunning show, India scored 192/2 in 20 overs.

Hong Kong lost its openers’ wickets pretty early during this chase. Though Babar Hayat (41) had put on a fight, Ravindra Jadeja got his wicket at a key moment. After that, Hong Kong never really was in the chase. Finally, it ended its innings at a score of 152/5 and lost the match by 40 runs. Bhuvi, Jadeja, Arshdeep and Avesh Khan got a wicket each.
