Sunrisers Hyderabad made a crucial change in its team management ahead of the next year’s IPL. It ended its contract with the current coach Tom Moody and made Brian Lara the new head coach. An official announcement was made earlier today.
Announcing Tom’s exit, SRH’s official Twitter handle tweeted, “As his term with us draws to an end, we would like to thank Tom for his contributions to SRH. It has been a much-cherished journey over the years, and we wish him the very best for future endeavours.”
Later, Brian Lara was announced as the new head coach. “The cricketing legend Brian Lara will be our head coach for the upcoming #IPL seasons,” SRH tweeted. Brian worked as the batting coach of SRH in IPL 2022.
Tom Moody shares a great bond with SRH. He worked as the head coach of the team from 2013 to 2019. Under his tenure, SRH qualified for playoffs five times and won the title in 2016. In 2021, he worked as the team’s director of cricket. In 2022, he was made the head coach again.
SRH ended up in the eighth position in this year’s IPL. The 2016 champions are looking forward to making a strong comeback next season.
