Modern cricketing legend Virat Kohli ended his drought in Test cricket. After a gap of more than three years, Kohli scored a Test century today. He scored this ton against Australia in the ongoing fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
This happens to be the 75th century for Virat Kohli in international cricket, placing him only behind Sachin Tendulkar in the highest number of centuries (100). Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is in third place with 71 centuries. They are followed by Kumar Sangakkara (63), Jacques Kallis (62) and Hashim Amla (55).
Kohli happens to be the only non-retired player in the top-10 list of the highest international centuries. This is the 28th Test century for Kohli. He is in the 17th position among the players who scored the highest number of centuries in Test cricket.
Coming back to the Test match, Australia scored 480 in the first innings. Team India gave a strong reply by scoring 472/5 by the time of the tea break on the fourth day. Virat Kohli remains in the crease with an individual score of 135 runs. Going by the progress, the game ends up as a draw.
