The dream of winning the ICC trophy after 13 long years(Since 2011) is getting all the more closer to Team India. The men in blue have secured a spot in the semis with their win against Australia in today’s game.
With this win, India has made it 3/3 in the Super Eight stage and has become the second side to qualify for the semi-finals after England.
After being put in to bat first, India scored 205 in the first innings, all thanks to a blistering innings from captain hitman Rohit Sharma who scored 92 off 41. Rohit was absolutely unassailable as he batted like a dream, taking on the gun bowlers of Australia.
In response, Australia stuttered in chasing the 205 target. In the end, India won by a margin of 24 runs and qualified for the semi-finals in top seed. This could be some sort of revenge against Australia who beat India in the 50-over world cup last year.
