IPL 2025: Costly Captain For Punjab Kings!

With the mega auction, many shuffles happened in the Indian Premier League 2025. The top cricketing edition will entertain us with a revamped format in the new year. Interestingly, the Punjab Kings announced their captain. Their costly buy, Shreyas Iyer, will lead the team in 2025.

Shreyas Iyer was the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders last year. He led the team to victory. Later, he opted out of the team and joined the auction, leaving room for others to pick him. As expected, Punjab Kings has picked Shreyas Iyer for a price of 26.75 Cr rupees.

The 30-year-old has had an immensely successful 12 months in domestic cricket and the IPL. Iyer also proved himself to be the best captain.

“I am honored that the team has reposed its faith in me. I am looking forward to working again with Coach Ponting. The team looks strong, with a great mix of potential and proven performers. I hope to repay the faith shown by the management to deliver our maiden title,” revealed Shreyas Iyer.
