Something unprecedented happened in the ongoing edition of the women’s Premier League, which is the woman’s equivalent of the IPL. For the first time ever, a WPL game went into super over and it ended up embarrassing RCB woman in their home Stadium of ChinnaSwamy.
The match between RCB and UP Warriors progressed on a thrilling note till the very last over when UP needed 18 runs from the final over. Incidentally, UP ended up getting 17 runs in the last over and tied the score with RCB, which resulted in super over.
And in the super over, UP scored eight runs in their batting innings and RCB needed just 9 to win the game. Then came a poor batting display by Captain Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh. They ended up getting just four runs from the super over and lost the game comprehensively.
RCB has the history of setting the most unwanted and undesired records, and they have done it again this time in WPL as they took a game into the super over for the first time in history and ended up losing it, despite having just a modest target.
