Raktha Charitra in Hyderabad: SRH Roars Back to Form!

The Hyderabad cricket Stadium witnessed one of the biggest runs in the history of T20 cricket as Sunrisers Hyderabad absolutely demolished the massive target of 246 runs that was set by Punjab.

In the first innings, Punjab was absolutely rampant with the bat as they compiled 245 runs, thanks to captain Shreyas Iyer and Marcus Stoinis. But just when everyone thought they target is out of reach for Hyderabad, Travis head and Abhishek Sharma created a massacre on the field.

With record breaking opening partnership of 171, there were magnificent with the bat. In particular, Abhishek Sharma was playing the innings of his lifetime. He eventually got to 141 runs and sealed the game for SRH. In the end, SRH chased this mighty target in just 18.3 overs.

This is the second highest ever in the history of IPL as the Hyderabad Stadium witnessed what many people are calling “Raktha Charitra” given the kind of massive batting performance. This game produced nearly 500 runs in 40 overs and this is extraordinary stuff.

With this win, Hyderabad improved slightly in the table as they got to 8th position. They would have to carry the momentum in each and every match from now on if they are to have a chance at qualifying for the playoffs.
