There is no debating the fact that Virat Kohli is one of the most animated and energetic players in world cricket. He has the habit of celebrating without any apprehensions or second thoughts on field.
This was on display again in the game against Punjab today, and this has now landed Kohli in a hot mess on social media.
Punjab, there was more on the line for Bengaluru, than what made the eye. First, it was a chance for revenge for Punjab’s recent triumph against Bengaluru, and on top of that, a crucial couple of points on the table were on the line. So, naturally the stakes were high.
With so much on the line, it was always expected that Virat Kohli would go above and beyond. In tune with this, he played a match winning innings of 74 runs and contributed to his team to complete a good revenge win against Punjab.
But what Kohli did after winning the game became a topic of discussion. In a viral video, we see Virat Kohli celebrating very outwardly. He is seen gesturing towards Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer.
Social media users are commenting that Kohli went a bit too overboard while celebrating in front of Iyer. They are commenting that there was no need for Kohli to go so aggressive in front of a young Indian player who is likely to be future captain of the side as well.
But it must also be noted that it was all in good spirit as Kohli and Iyer went on to hug each other after this while celebration from Kohli. It all ended well.
