Amidst Operation Sindoor initiated by government of India and the existing tensions at the India Pakistan border, the BCCI postponed IPL 2025. However, after many discussions, the board decided to resume the tournament from May 17th. A revised schedule for the remainder of the season has been released today.
After discussing various possibilities with the franchises, state associations, broadcasters, state governments and many other stakeholders, the board decided to complete the 13 league matches, three playoffs and one final by June 3rd.
Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals were officially out of the playoffs race. The competition is between all the other teams. However, the biggest challenge is to bring back the overseas star players who left the country already.
A total of 17 matches will be held across six venues this time and they are Jaipur, Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. The venues for the playoffs and final will be decided later.
