Not many people know that Huzurabad BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy was a former cricketer who played first-class cricket for the Hyderabad team and participated in the Indian Cricket League (ICL) as well. Reminiscing about his good old days, Kaushik shared a memory of him getting the wicket of iconic Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma.
This morning, Kaushik Reddy shared a paper clipping which featured his name in the headline. “Kaushik Strikes – Rohit Sharma Out”, the headline read. In that particular Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai, Kaushik took four wickets by giving away 48 runs.
Sharing the paper clipping, Kaushik wrote, “Cricket has always been a deep passion of mine, and recently I came across some old newspaper clippings that stirred up a wave of nostalgia. One memory that stood out was the unforgettable moment when I dismissed the current Indian captain, Rohit Sharma. Moments like these are truly golden.”
“As I revisit those cherished experiences, I especially recall the crucial role I played in securing a memorable victory for Hyderabad against Mumbai,” he went on to add.
In his domestic career, Kaushik played 15 first-class matches and 12 List-A games. He was active till 2007. From 2018, he was active in Telangana state politics.
