‘Joy Turns to Grief’: CM Confirms Stampede Death Toll

The government of Karnataka has finally reacted to the tragic stampede that happened at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru today. This incident is consequential to the victory parade that happened to facilitate the RCB players after the remarkable IPL win. 

The chief minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah sat in front of the media and provided official statistics and detailed report on this matter.

It has been confirmed by the chief minister that 11 people have died due to the stamped while 33 have been injured. It has been further communicated that the family of the deceased will be getting 10 lakhs ex gratia on behalf of the government of Karnataka. 

The chief minister stated that the joy of the victory has been overshadowed by this sorrow that has been left by the unfortunate passing of these 11 individuals. 

There are media reports stating that one of the victims happens to be from Andhra Pradesh and unofficial update on this matter is awaited for the time being.
