The anticipated encounter between India and Australia in the ongoing women’s World Cup happened last evening. Vizag International Stadium hosted this iconic game, and it turned out to be an absolute blockbuster.
Batting India got to a pretty impressive score of 330 runs. Considering the fact that this is a World Cup game, it was expected that this massive score could be defended by India.
However, the mighty Australian team made light work of this target as they chased down the score in just 49 overs. Alisa Healy, the Australian opener was on the top of her game as she scored 144 runs and gave Australia the momentum at the start of the evenings.
In the end, Australia ended up scoring this target in just 49 hours and this is now the highest successful runs of all time in the history of women’s World Cup. It is decided to see India ending up on the losing side.
This means that India has lost two back-to-back games(South Africa and Australia). Sadly, things are not going to get any better for India as they will be facing on another formidable side in the form of England in the next year.
India needs to be bounce back if they are to remain alive in the tournament and a win against England next would perfectly encapsulate the same.
