After the heartbreaking defeat in the finals of the 2023 World Cup was expected that the ODI careers of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would be as good as done. But the two of them decided to stick around and even retired from the test and T20 formats for the sake of ODI cricket.
But there were several doubts about the consistency and the physical conditioning of these two superstars, considering that they are nearing their 40s already.
But the kind of determination and physical conditioning that both Rohit and Virat have been showing in the recent past is exemplary. Their performances in the ODI series against Australia, followed by the recent South African series has been pretty impressive.
The best part is that both Rohit and Virat Kohli have been in absolute peak form, with the latter scoring two centuries along with 65 and 75 in the three ODI games against South Africa. It is evident that Kohli is still at the peak of his prowess.
Considering the kind of insane energy and determination that both Rohit and Virat have been showing as a part of their preparation for the 2027 World Cup, Indian cricket fans are already hopeful of the ultimate glory.
There is no better way to end the careers than win the World Cup in Australia, who coincidentally defeated them in the World Cup in India and this is precisely what Rohit and Kohli appear to be looking for at this point.
