Most Unexpected: Ind Vs SA Game Called Off Due to Fog!

It is already known that northern India has been witnessing excessive fog for the last few days as the chilling winters have hit record low temperatures. Incidentally, this came to play during the fourth T20 game between India and South Africa.

While this game which was to be played at the Lucknow stadium in UP was scheduled to start at 7 PM, it got delayed indefinitely at first due to the excessive fog that was observed at the stadium. 

The match officials and the teams waited for the fog to reduce as the visibility was extremely low, and it was not safe for players to take field. The wait lasted nearly 2 hours as the officials wanted to carry on with the game as soon as the fog subsided. 

But with the fog, not going down and visibility hitting very low degrees, this game was called off on security grounds and the result is abandoned. Essentially mean that the series would remain in the favour of India, who leads 2-1. 

This is one of the very first times in international Cricket that a game has been cancelled due to low visibility due to fog. We have seen games getting cancelled due to rain, but this is one of the first times to see a big game being abandoned due to fog. 

This would add a lot of focus on the upcoming fifth T20 game as a win for India would secure the series 3-1 in their favour while a win for South Africa level it up. 

Coming back to the weather conditions in northern India, it is established that the air quality is alarmingly low at 400+ AQI and this has made life living hell to everyone.
