It was always expected that Mumbai Indians would have a very silent IPL auction this year, considering the fact that they had just Rs 2.45 crore in the purse. In accordance with this, they could not buy too many players in the auction.
However, it turned out to be that Mumbai could pull off a miracle of sorts as they could grab a star player for a relatively very low price.
The player in question is South African wicket-keeping batsmen Quinton De Cock. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for a low price of Rs 1 crore. This is an absolute throwaway price for a very capable player who has been in fine form.
Another factor share is that this South African player was previously a part of the Mumbai Indian steam and a couple of trophies with them already. He knows the gameplay of Mumbai very well and can be a very valuable addition to the team.
Apart from that, Mumbai will also be facilitated by the South African dynamic batsmen can offer the left right opening partnership along with Rohit Sharma. So in every given way, this absolute banging deal from Mumbai Indians and they would be very happy with the same.
It was perhaps a mistake from other IPL teams to give away such a quality player for such a low price to Mumbai Indian Indians, which is already a champion team.
