T20 WC: India, Pakistan, England Escape Close Fights!

The ongoing T20 World Cup has started on a reasonably entertaining note with smaller teams, being able to compete with the bigger nations in a comprehensive manner.

The most important developments in the T20 World Cup came in the form of India, Pakistan and England starting on a jerky note.

Incidentally, India was in a very problematic situation in the game against the United States as the scorecard was mentioning 77-6 at one point. But thanks to Surya’s brilliant knock, India got to 161 and eventually won the game.

Pakistan also found themselves in deep trouble against Netherlands as they needed 29 from 2 overs while chasing 147. But they could scrape through in the end.

Today, England was also in a state of deep trouble against Nepal as the latter almost chased down the target of 182 set by England. In the end, Nepal lost the game by just 4 runs as they came so close to defeating England in their first ever encounter.

It is evident that the smaller teams are in a very strong position of contention in the T20 World Cup, and the bigger teams are finding it hard to close out these otherwise usual games. This is a strong competition that is expected from the World Cup and it is good to see it happening this year.
