1 Upset Of T20 WC: Australia Gets Crushed!

The first major upset of the ongoing T20 World Cup happened today as one of the title favourites of the tournament, Australia got absolutely crushed. 

Incidentally, Australia came up against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup today, and this was always expected to be a close contest, considering the good performances of Zimbabwe in the T20 format in recent years. 

This was again on display as Zimbabwe scored 169 runs in the first innings and could successfully defend this total against the mighty Australian batting lineup. 

Australia was in a poor position from the start of the game as they were down 29-4 at one point. There was a reasonable recovery in the middle portion, but again Zimbabwe came back in the end and completed a pretty convincing victory in the end by winning the game with 23 runs margin. 

This will go down as a major upset in the World Cup this year and Australia, which has started the tournament as one of the favourites to win the title have made a very shaky start. They need to bring their top game for the rest of the matches in the series now.

Credit where it is due, Zimbabwe needs to be appreciated for their brilliant performance against the title favourites, Australia, and this shows the remarkable rise of Zimbabwe cricket over the years.
