Sunday is a very crucial day for IPL as this is the one day of the week that the entire population gets to enjoy with the family. So it is extremely crucial that big team like Chennai, Mumbai, and Bengaluru are in action this day.
But this calculation was not followed and expectedly so as well, considering that the IPL goes on for two months, and it is impossible to have a big game every weekend.
Incidentally, yesterday’s games were between KKR and Rajasthan followed by the game between Punjab and Lucknow. The first game was a low scoring thriller between KKR and Rajasthan, which ended in the favour of Kolkata, the second was a one-sided affair.
Interestingly, KKR put an end to the five game losing streak by beating Rajasthan, thanks to splendid innings by Rinku Singh. They have moved from 10th position to 9th position on the table.
And the second game between Punjab and Lucknow was a one-sided affair as Punjab scored more than 250 runs and Lucknow got confined to 200.
In totality, there was shortage of high octane action that would be expected from some of the top teams as this Sunday turned out to be a plain and dry one. But luckily, we have a big game coming up next week in the form of the clash between Chennai and Mumbai on Thursday.
