Corona: NIMS Hospital Shut Down For Three Days

Coronavirus is spreading fast as governments ease lockdown and lift restrictions. The impact of Unlock 1.0 is evident in Telangana with 206 positive cases being registered in the last 24 hours. Of these, 152 cases were recorded in the GHMC limits alone while 28 were registered in Rangareddy and Medchal districts.

The renowned Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has been partially shut down for three days from June 7, 2020 as staff working in some wings were infected. Five wings in the hospital were shut down. The five departments will open after three days, on June 10, once the sanitisation works are complete.

Meanwhile, a highest single-day death toll of 10 was recorded leading to anxiety among the public in the state. Over 3,946 people tested positive in the state so far while the death toll is at 123 and active cases at 1,663.

The Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district has been a green zone with zero Covid-19 cases so far but one the first positive case was registered in the last 24 hours. A student pursuing training to appear for civils examination returned from New Delhi and he tested positive in the district. He, along with nine of his primary contacts, were shifted to AIIMS, Bibinagar, for treatment.
