The Google search trends indicate that Corona-related searches in May have declined as people go back to searches related to films and weather. The Corona Virus had been a popular topic among the public in March and April. However, the netizens seem to have moved on in May. Even as the Covid-19 cases have been rapidly increasing and reached a pinnacle in May, the search volume for the Corona Virus in May was half of that in April.
It’s learnt that Coronavirus dropped to the 12th most searched topic overall in May and it fell behind topics like Film, Meaning, News and Weather. This indicates that people are trying to go back to normalcy as their online consumption patterns resemble pre-Covid times.
On the other hand, India stood at top 5th place in the world in Corona cases. Maharashtra is the worst-hit state. As per reports, the Corona cases count of Maharashtra have surpassed China. So far, Maharashtra recorded 85,975 Covid-19 cases and 3060 deaths. While the total count of Corona cases in China are around 84,000, the total deaths in China were 4638.
The total Corona cases in India till today morning are reported at 2,56,611 and total deaths are 7135. Meanwhile, 1,24,094 were recovered and another 1,25,381 are being treated.
