In a welcome move, the Republic of Singapore has agreed to quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated Indians to its country. With this, Indians need to have to go through stay-home notice upon arrival. The fully vaccinated travelers need to produce negative RT PCR test taken two days before departure, and also undergo an RT PCR test upon arrival.
This new travel rule comes into force from 29th November. It has also allowed vaccinated Indonesians to travel to the ‘The Garden City’. The country is also likely to include three more countries to the list by next month.
Singapore has Vaccinated Travel Lane or VTL program in place. Countries such as Australia, Canada, and Germany, and 10 other countries have already been allowed to travel without having to quarantine. Now India and Indonesia have joined the legion.
S Iswaran, the Transport Minister of Singapore said, “This means that fully vaccinated travellers from Singapore entering India will no longer need to undergo post-arrival tests home quarantine, they will just need to self monitor for 14 days upon arrival. Our discussions with India are progressing well. And we aim to resume two daily VTL flights each to Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai by November 29. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will provide more details once finalised,”
Whereas the travelers from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar are only allowed to enter Singapore under the VLT program from December 6.
