International Flights
In a major relief for international flight operations, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation announced the resumption of international services from December 15th. The aviation ministry added that it has taken the decision after due consultation with the Union Health Ministry and assessed the Covid-19 situation across the globe.
However, the aviation ministry has barred 14 countries for the international flight operations and countries that do not fall under this list are UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Finland, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Singapore.
India suspended regular international flight operations in March 2020 which was the beginning stages of the pandemic. But the government permitted scheduled international operations with Covid-19 protocols in place.
The latest decision to resume international services would be a huge boost for the aviation sector but the industry will take time to recover the losses incurred in the last 18 months.
