As we reported earlier, Kangana Ranaut is turning the host for the first time for Ekta Kapoor’s reality show ‘Lock Upp’. The actress spilt the beans on what the show is going to be like. She said it is no less than torture as the set of most controversial celebrities will have to leave their luxurious lifestyle behind. As per the trailer, the contestants will be left handcuffed and jailed.
The host Kangana appears as a jailer, putting her ‘boss-lady’ attitude on display. She says staying locked up in the show is no less than a nightmare. In her words, “Ab kapade utarenge, toh sabke saamne (They’ll be uncovered in front of everyone).” It is strange to see Kangana, who has always opposed exposing and modern time films like Gehraiyaan, chose to be a part of Lock Upp today.
Kangana called Lock Upp “the biggest reality show” and its participants “India’s most controversial celebrities.” The show makers took themes inspired by Money heist and Squid Game by considering the colour red with the hostage-like situation on-screen. The trailer shows the contestants are also seen wearing red jumpsuits. Ekta Kapoor, who’s bankrolled the show shared the trailer on social media with the text “Many Rules, One Queen!”
The show will put the celebrity contestants (16) through difficult tasks and dramatic situations as they fight to survive jail for a period of 72 days. Lock Upp will begin streaming on February 27.
