61,537 new positive Covid-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the country. This for the second straight day that India posted over 60K cases in a single while the above number is the second biggest spike.
Also the COVID-19 tally rises to 20,88,612 including 6,19,088 active cases and 14,27,006 cured or discharged. 5,98,778 samples were tested yesterday while the total number of samples tested up to 7th August is 2,33,87,171.
933 people have died all over India yesterday and India has stormed into the 42K death mark. Currently the total death count is 42,518.
Telangana state reported its biggest single day spike with 2256 cases and the total cases went up to 77,513. 14 people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours while the total death count is 615 in Telangana.
