India has made a record in Covid-19 deaths as it has gone past the 50K mark. In the last 24 hours, 941 people have died and with this the total deaths count is at 50,921. India is the fourth nation in the world to post over 50K deaths after the US, Brazil and Mexico.
Maharashtra state has the maximum deaths with nearly 20K deaths. Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are the next states.
Coming to the positive cases in the country, 57,982 have been posted in the last 24 hours and the total cases have crossed the 26 Lakh mark. Currently the total cases count is 26,47,664. Out of the total cases, active ones are 6,76,900 while the discharged people are 19,19,843.
In Telangana, the cases have hit the 90K mark. 894 new positive cases have been reported yesterday and the total cases count is 92,255. Also the death count has gone past 700 in Telangana.
