Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was shot and wounded at a protest march in Wazirabad.
Imran Khan was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital. Another Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Party leader Faisal Khan was also injured in the incident.
Two armed men opened fire and were immediately taken into custody. One of them was beaten and killed by the mob. Many supporters of Imran Khan at the protest rally, were also injured.
Imran Khan a former cricketer became Pakistan’s PM in 2018 but was ousted from power in April this year after a no-confidence vote by opposition lawmakers alleging corruption.
Imran Khan’s condition is said to be ‘out of danger’.
