Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has been facing allegations in links with conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his money laundering case. Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi were questioned multiple times by the Economic Offences Wing. Enforcement Directorate accused Jacqueline of allegedly enjoying the proceeds of crime from conman Sukesh.
Now Jacqueline has turned witness in the EOW case along with Nora Fatehi. TV anchor Pinky Irani is accused in the same case of introducing several actresses to Chandrasekhar inside Tihar jail.
In the latest update, Jacqueline told the court that her entire life was destroyed by Chandrasekhar who duped her.
Jacqueline in her statement said, Sukesh would call her two or three times a day and he would be dressed in designer wear and never repeated his clothes. He would make video calls only from one corner of his room which had a curtain backdrop and a sofa. When Jacqueline learned about Sukesh’s criminal past, Irani called it a misunderstanding and a result of political rivalry. Irani convinced her that Sukesh was a gentleman and a billionaire.
Jacqueline said she met Chandrasekhar twice in June 2021. He also took her for a drive around the city. He was armed with 15 bodyguards who followed them in two Range Rovers. Jacqueline said Sukesh won’t let her meet his family and always made excuses when asked. ‘Sukesh has played with my emotions, made my life hell and ruined my career, livelihood’, Fernandez said in her statement.
Nora Fatehi’s Statement
Nora Fatehi also told the court on January 13 that she was invited to attend an event in Chennai hosted by Leena Marie Paul, Chandrasekhar’s wife. Nora was asked to be the chief guest at the event and hand out an envelope containing money to disabled children. After the event, Chandrasekhar talked to her over the phone and offered a car as a ‘thank you token.’Nora said she refused to take that as she was already given gift boxes with an iPhone and a Gucci bag.
Nora gave her relative Bobby’s number to a man called Suresh regarding the BMW car. Nora later found that one Suresh who has been insisting she takes the car is Chandrasekhar himself.
Suresh and Bobby further discussed business opportunities and the former wanted to give the BMW car as a signing fee. Nora Fatehi insisted to be present when the car is being handed over and she says she ‘went with the flow.’
Nora Fatehi later got a call from a cousin that says Irani had contacted Bobby and told him Chandrasekhar wanted to finance Nora’s entire life, family, and career in exchange for her to be his girlfriend. Nora Fatehi says that Irani told her ‘Jacqueline is waiting in line for this but Sukesh wants Nora. Nora’s cousin had a heated argument with Irani on the phone during which she threatened to report the latter to the police.
