US: Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy In 2024 Presidential Bid

After Nikki Haley announced her presidential bid for the 2024 US elections, another Indian-American tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy launched his 2024 presidential bid. He promises to ‘put merit back’ and end dependence on China.

The 37-year-old Vivek Ramaswamy’s parents migrated to the US from Kerala and worked at a General Electric plant in Ohio.

Vivek Ramaswamy announced his presidential campaign during a live interview on Fox News’ prime time show Tucker Carlson. ‘We are in the middle of this national identity crisis, Tucker, where we have celebrated our differences for so long that we forgot all the ways we are really just the same as Americans bound by a common set of ideals that set this nation into motion 250 years ago,’ Mr. Ramaswamy said.

Vivek Ramaswamy founded Roivant Sciences in 2014 and led the largest biotech IPOs of 2015 and 2016. He also launched Strive Asset Management, the firm that focused on restoring the voices of everyday citizens in the American economy.

Nikki Haley is a two-term former governor of South Carolina and former US Ambassador to the United Nations. She announced that she will content against her former boss and ex-US President Donald Trump for the Republican party’s nomination. Vivek Ramaswamy is the second Indian-American to enter the Republican presidential primary.
