US Tourism is making all efforts to bring back tourists from all over the world to the country. The visa restrictions and Covid delays in visa issuances barricaded many visitors from coming to the US in the last two years. Now visa issues are being addressed as a high priority, the US is expecting more tourists in the next 24 months and Indian visitors are expected to be more in number this time.
The Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board president Adam Burge is in India as a part of Los Angeles city’s target to get a million visitors to the city by 2030. Pre-pandemic, LA received 1,30,000 Indian visitors.
Adam opines that the US is working on reducing visa wait times. The measures include processing applications in consulates outside the country and revalidation of certain visas within the US.
Adam Burke also hinted at the US plans to implement video interviews instead of face-to-face visa interviews, to reduce the wait times. He also spoke about the need for an increase in the number of direct flights to the city of Los Angeles. He was hopeful it would be addressed with Air India’s announced expansion.
India currently ranks number nine among international visitors but is expected to be in top 5 by 2025. India is expected to be number two among international visitors to LA by 2030.
