Telugu Woman Techie Died In Flooded Bengaluru Underpass

A devastating incident occurred in Bengaluru, Karnataka, when a 23-year-old woman lost her life after the car she was traveling in became trapped in a flooded underpass. The victim, identified as Bhanurekha, was employed at Infosys and had been visiting Bengaluru with her family from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

The unfortunate incident took place at the KR Circle underpass on Sunday. Heavy rainfall had caused the underpass to flood, and despite the water level being dangerously high, the driver of the vehicle decided to take the risk and attempt to cross it. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was trying to navigate the water quickly, but the car ended up fully submerged.

The quick response from the fire department personnel led to the successful rescue of Bhanurekha’s family members who were accompanying her. However, tragically, Bhanurekha drowned in the incident. The news of her demise left her family and loved ones devastated.

Following the incident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the location and met with the family members of the deceased. Expressing his condolences, he announced that the family would receive a compensation of ₹5 lakh. CM Siddaramaiah also addressed the media, revealing that the family had hired a car for their sightseeing trip and that the driver took the risk of crossing the underpass despite the fallen barricade.

Eyewitnesses described the chaotic scene as people nearby rushed to help the stranded individuals. They provided sarees and ropes to assist in keeping them afloat. Despite their efforts, some were unable to escape the rising water. Emergency service swimmers and a ladder were used to rescue those caught in the flooded underpass.

The survivors were promptly transported to a medical facility, where the devastating news of Bhanurekha’s passing was confirmed. The sight of her lifeless body led to an outpouring of grief among her loved ones who had survived the ordeal.
