Andhra Farmer Who Sold Tomatoes Worth Rs 30 Lakhs Found Murdered

In a tragic incident, a 62-year-old tomato farmer named Narem Rajasekhar Reddy was found murdered on the outskirts of Bodumalladinne in Madanapalle Mandal, Annamayya district. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Rajasekhar was on his way to deliver milk to the nearby village.

According to the police, unidentified individuals intercepted him and tied his arms and legs to a tree before strangling him with a towel. The motive behind the murder is suspected to be robbery, as Rajasekhar had recently sold more than 70 crates of tomatoes at the Madanapalle market, earning nearly Rs 30 lakhs.

During the police inquiry, Rajasekhar’s wife, Jyothi, revealed that some unidentified men had visited their farm on Tuesday, pretending to be interested in purchasing tomatoes. However, they were informed that Rajasekhar had gone to the village to sell milk.

The police are investigating possible connections between the murder and the significant financial gain Rajasekhar had recently received. The farmer is survived by his wife and two married daughters, both of whom reside in Bengaluru. Madanapalle SP R Gangadhar Rao visited the crime scene and spoke to the family members of the deceased.

Authorities have formed four teams to crack the case, and a sniffer dog has been deployed as part of the investigation. The police assure that all angles of the case will be thoroughly examined to bring the culprits to justice.
