Facebook shuts down FarmVille

Facebook users are familiar with a lot of online games, and FarmVille remains noteworthy among them. It’s been 11 years that the game came into existence, but the game development company announced the shut down from January 1, 2021. The game will be taken down from Facebook on December 31, 2020. In March 2010, the game had 83.76 million monthly active users. In May 2012, the game was ranked as the seventh most popular Facebook game. Zynga revealed the reason for shutting down FarmVille in their FAQ section. “Farmville runs on Adobe Flash, and from December 31, Adobe Flash and games running on it will no longer be supported by browsers and Facebook. That is why we had to make the tough decision of shutting down Farmville.” revealed the company.

Farmville will be completely shut down on December 31, 2020, but the team will stop accepting payments after November 17, 2020.
