IPL 2020: RR Loses Their Fourth Game in a Row

Rajasthan Royals lost their fourth game in a row and further blurred their chances of reaching the play-offs. They were dominated by Delhi Capitals in every department in the match held tonight in Sharjah. They fumbled while chasing a total of 185 and lost the match by 46 runs.

After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals opted to bowl first. They got a good start as Shikhar Dhawan fell in the second over. Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer got out in fifth and sixth overs respectively. In-form Rishab Pant fell in the 10th over. Delhi lost their four key batsmen inside 10 overs. Then, Marcus Stoinis (39) and Shimron Hetmyer (45) played a responsible game and built a decent partnership. In the backend overs, Axar Patel and Harshal Patel have hit some boundaries. By the end of 20 overs, Delhi Capitals managed to score 184/8. Jofra Archer impressed by taking three wickets.

Rajasthan Royals needed a good start to chase this total but they failed to get it as Jos Buttler got out in the third over. Steve Smith and Yashaswi Jaiswal (34) tried to build a partnership but the former fell in the bowling of Anrich Nortje. After that, no one really stood up for Rajasthan and by the end of 10 overs, their defeat was certain.

Only Rahul Tewatia (38) managed to put on a one-man show but it was too late by then. Finally, they ended their innings by scoring 138/10. Delhi’s star bowler Kagiso Rabada took three wickets. Rajasthan will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will take on Mumbai Indians on October 10.
