Jaws dropped and eyes widened as 10-year-old Maya Neelakantan took the stage on America’s Got Talent. The young metal prodigy (guitarist strumming rock) from India had come to showcase her incredible guitar skills, and she did not disappoint, leaving both the judges and the audience in awe.
During her audition, Maya delivered a powerful rendition of Papa Roach’s “Last Resort,” starting slowly and then unleashing her raw talent. Her transformation into a rock goddess was nothing short of mesmerizing, with hosts exclaiming. Despite her young age, Maya has been honing her craft for years, regularly performing on her parents’ managed YouTube channel.
Maya’s talent has not gone unnoticed by industry veterans. Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, took to Twitter to praise the young musician, saying, “Maya Neelakantan is only 10 years old. 10! Yes, Simon, she’s a Rock Goddess. From the land of Goddesses.” Mahindra even suggested inviting Maya to perform at the Mahindra Blues Festival, showcasing his enthusiasm for her talent.
We have to see what type of future holds for Maya back home now!
