Mumbai Indians have got a thumping victory against Delhi Capitals last night in the Qualifier 1 of IPL 2020. It was a stunning show from both the batsman and the bowlers which helped Mumbai in scoring this victory. Right from Quinton de Kock, Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan to Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, everyone did well for their side. The only player who failed to perform was the skipper Rohit Sharma. He got out for a golden duck in the bowling of Ravichandran Ashwin. With this horrendous feat, Sharma has now equalled the record of Parthiv Patel and Harbhajan Singh in getting dismissed for a duck most of the times.
The three of them got dismissed for a duck 13 times in his IPL career. The same is the case with Parthiv Patel and Harbhajan Singh. These three players jointly hold this duck-record in IPL right now. Rohit is not at all in a form during this edition. Barring a couple of good performances, he didn’t live up to the expectations at all. In the meantime, he also got a hamstring injury which made him rest for a few matches.
Rohit’s record in the playoffs is also something which he will not be proud of. In the 19 playoff innings he played, Rohit scored 229 runs with an average of 12.72 and a strike rate of 101.32. He also got out for a duck three times in the playoffs. We have to see how well will he perform in the final this time.
