Stampede at Delhi Railway Station: 15 Dead Amid Kumbh Rush

A tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday night claimed 15 lives and left several injured. The incident occurred as passengers rushed to board trains to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Platforms 14 and 15 were overcrowded due to delays of Swantrata Senani and Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express trains.

Platforms quickly became overcrowded, triggering panic after false rumors of train cancellations to Prayagraj. The chaos led to pushing and shoving, resulting in a stampede.

Railway authorities announced a high-level inquiry, while the injured were taken to LNJP Hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic, with many passengers fainting due to suffocation in the massive crowd.
