IPL 2021 To Get An Extra Team

It’s just been hours that the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) has concluded and we have a huge update about the 2021 IPL. Well the 14th edition of IPL is most likely to get an extra franchise i.e, team which means 2021 IPL will have nine teams competing for the trophy.

From the reports we hear that the Ahmedabad franchise is likely to be inducted in the IPL. Gujarat being PM Modi’s home state, he always had a wish to see one team from his state representing in the IPL. Also BCCI secretary being Jay Shah son of Union Home minister Amit Shah, there are high chances of Ahmedabad joins the IPL.

However the details of bidders are not known yet. BCCI sources said that it is too early to comment on it but it would invite bidders and call for auction in 2021 January or February.

There is also a buzz that Suresh Raina is most likely to leave Chennai Super Kings and pick Ahmedabad franchise. Earlier, Raina had captained Gujarat Lions team as CSK was suspended on alleged fixing charges. But it was just a two years contract and Raina is back to CSK fold last year.

But this year, Raina did not play for CSK because of personal reasons and the rumours came that he is planning to quit CSK because of the differences.
