Drunk & Hit: 1 Dead At Cyber Towers mishap

Just days after the Volvo car accident in Gachibowli, another deadly accident took place in Hyderabad. In this mishap, one person has lost his life while another person sustained severe injuries and the condition is said to be serious.

Going into details, a luxury Mercedes car had hit a bike while jumping the signal at Cyber Towers in Hi-Tech city. A couple identified as Gautham Dev and his wife Swetha hail from Odisha are the victims. Gautham died on the spot while Swetha is currently in coma because she sustained a serious injury to her brain and legs got fractured.

The police caught hold of two people who were driving the car and they are identified as Kasi Viswanath and Kaushik. The police suspect that both Kasi and Kaushik are in a drunken state. The culprits were arrested and the police are investigating the case.

The visuals of this mishap was captured on a CCTV placed closed to one of the buildings at the traffic signal. The victim’s father said the accident took place while they were returning home from shopping and demanded an immediate punishment of Kasi and Kaushik for their rash driving.

After the lockdown and pubs getting reopened, the drunk and drive accidents have increased in Hyderabad. The police need to hold cordon search at more places in order to avoid such mishaps and loss of life.
