Almost every time, there is a conflict between India and Pakistan, it is the famous Karachi bakery that faces the brunt of the public outcry. The same thing has happened again now as a Karachi bakery outlet in Hyderabad was vandalised by BJP activists.
The incident happened in the Shamshabad area of Hyderabad, where, according to media reports, BJP activists vandalised an outlet out of fierce emotion.
Though the Karachi Bakery company is named after the famous eatery city in Pakistan, the Bakery was founded in 1953 by a Sindhi Hindu man named Khanchand Ramnani, who migrated to India during the partition. It is a domestic Indian brand that has been in operation for 70 years. But every time there is a conflict between India and Pakistan, crowds tend to attack these bakeries, obviously due to the naming implications.
The owner of this bakery had requested support from Telangana government to prevent such activities, but the public emotion is simply too much to handle at this point. A few Karachi bakery outlets in Hyderabad displayed Indian flag right on top of the nameplate, but this also didn’t turn out to be beneficial.
